This anniversary was established by Kakunoya Foods Corporation, headquartered in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, and was recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association in 2022.
The purpose of establishing the day is “to let more people enjoy the taste of fried horse mackerel” and “to raise awareness of the protection of marine resources.
